Cybersecurity & Microgrid Testbed

We are excited to announce the development of a new Cybersecurity & Microgrid Testbed at the IDEAL Center. This testbed is designed to support advanced research on the security, resilience, and real-time monitoring of modern power systems, with a particular focus on hybrid AC/DC microgrids and inverter-based resources.

The platform enables realistic simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing of cyber-physical attacks, protection strategies, and AI-based defense mechanisms. This initiative will provide students and researchers with hands-on experience in securing next-generation energy systems against emerging cyber threats.
